Friday Golf Facts

1. Where is the most dangerous golf course in the world?

The golf course in Panmunjom, which lies in a demilitarized zone between North and South Korea is often called the most dangerous golf course in the world. It has earned the 'dangerous' monicker not for deep hazards or unplayable rough but because of the mine fields located on three sides of the course.

Its an interesting read if you want to read more about this intriguing Course.

2.   How far does the average LPGA tour player drive the ball and How far should you drive for your age group and handicap?

The average driving distance for a female golfer on the LPGA tour is about 250 yards this is around 225m.

Driving distance numbers from Golf Monthly’s official data partner Arccos show some fascinating insights into how far female golfers hit the ball.

The below data shows the average total distance for female golfers aged between 30-60 with handicaps of scratch, 10 and 20.

Check out the data below courtesy of Golf Monthly. These distances are in yards which the US and Europe still use.   Convert to metres is easy just minus by approx 10%.  If you sit outside the ages, adjust lower by 10-15% if you are 70+. If you are in your 20's increase.
